Hair Care Tips

Virgin Hair
means hair that needs the same care as your natural hair. There are many different types of Virgin hair: Brazilian, Indian, Peruvian, Malaysian hair, just to name the main types.

VHS Extensions are of 100% premium quality guarantee and considered an investment. Therefore, investing money and not properly caring for the extensions is a big NO. To retain the quality and lifespan, the following is recommended for the care of the VHS Virgin Hair Extensions/Unit.

Night Time Care

ALWAYS wrap/tie your hair up every night using a silk bonnet or scarf. If you must sleep without protection, have a silk (satin) pillowcase handy. You can wrap, braid, plait, pin curl or roller set your hair using rollers or flexi rods underneath your bonnet/scarf. Curly hair can be braided into a loose braid(s).

Styling & Hot Tools Tip

When using Hot Tools, ALWAYS use heat protection! Too much heat can decrease the longevity of your VHS hair extensions, causing excessive frizziness, dryness and brittleness. Limit the amount of heat if possible. When combing your hair, gently do so with a paddle brush or wide tooth comb beginning with small sections. Start at the ends and work your way up the shaft towards the weft or roots.

Shampoo and Conditioning Tips

When you first receive your VHS hair extensions, its recommended to inspect, shampoo, and deep condition your extensions to ensure that they are clean and in the most natural most high- quality state when you do your installation. Use high-quality shampoos and conditioners when washing your VHS hair extensions. Its recommended to use products that are alcohol and sulfate free. Shampoo 1 to 2 times a month. If your hair feels heavy or oily use a clarifying shampoo. Always air dry the hair extensions if possible.

Bleaching and Coloring tips

VHS premium virgin hair extensions can be bleached or colored up to a blonde 613. It is recommended to purchase 613 hair if you want to achieve that color as bleaching or processing any type of hair will lessen the quality of the hair strands. It is recommend to use high-quality bleaching and coloring products with the VHS hair extensions. If you are not a licensed cosmetologist and you don’t have the proper knowledge about coloring hair, It is highly recommended that you consult with a professional before bleaching or coloring any of your extensions from VHS. Always deep condition your hair after any coloring services, and continue to deep condition your hair on a monthly basis to ensure the longevity of the extensions. We cannot guarantee the longevity of any hair that has been processed or chemically treated.

Tips to Maintain The longevity of VHS Virgin Hair Extensions

You can reuse your VHS Premium Virgin Hair for up to a year. To ensure you are able to have this option, It is important to follow all the steps previously mentioned, in addition to protecting the wefts of your bundles. Protecting the wefts mean, if you are getting a sew-in, ask your stylist about not cutting your wefts. Cutting the wefts break the tension in thread that hold the hairs onto the weft, in result weakens the foundation the hairs are attached and causes excessive shedding. To be sure your extensions last at least a year, don’t cut wefts and if you can, SEAL the wefts.

How to Avoid Shedding

You’ve probably heard good hair means that it does not shed. All hair sheds, even our natural hair will shed. Naturally, we lose 100 strands of hair per day. So, you will see MINIMAL shedding with any hair extensions, particularly with curly or wavy curl patterns. 1 to 10 strands of hair per day is normal shedding for premium virgin hair extensions. However, excessive shedding, is typically caused by bad quality hair or misuse of a product or hair tool. So, treat your hair extensions like they are your baby, because they are!
